EED7004 · Assessment 2 · Professional Teaching Portfolio

Assessment 2 Artefact Hub

A direct, assessor-friendly index for the nine Graduate APST focus areas in my portfolio. Each standard has two artefact landing points so the presentation can link directly to the evidence, supporting sources and current placement work.

Evidence integrity: published professional resources and public school documents provide context and professional knowledge. They do not, by themselves, prove that I enacted a practice. Private mentor material, teaching video and student-identifying evidence are not published publicly. Portfolio-authored planning records are clearly labelled as planning or prospective evidence.

APST 3.7

Engage parents/carers in the educative process

Artefact 1 · Family & Community Engagement presentation

My portfolio work explores inclusive, culturally responsive and ongoing home–school partnership, including communication of learning goals, progress and practical next steps.

Status: professional-resource evidence and portfolio reflection.

Artefact 2 · Communication / planning documentation

This evidence maps a broad communication repertoire, including digital platforms, written communication, parent/carer conversations and learning-focused partnership strategies.

Status: portfolio-authored communication planning is prospective; it is not presented as a completed family meeting.

APST 5.5

Report on student achievement and maintain accurate records

Artefact 1 · Wallan Compass reporting process

Wallan Secondary College uses Compass to give parents/carers access to homework and assessment tasks, semester reports and academic-progress information. This provides authentic school-context evidence of a range of strategies for reporting student achievement and progress.

Status: school-context evidence now collected. I do not claim that I personally issued the reports.

Artefact 2 · Wallan Progression Policy

The Progression Policy links reliable records to reporting and educational decision-making. It identifies Continuous Online Reporting GPA, Common Assessment Tasks and attendance among the evidence considered for progression and states that the school uses an effective reporting system so students and families are informed of progress.

Status: authentic Wallan policy evidence; demonstrates understanding of why accurate records matter.

APST 6.1

Use the APST to identify professional learning needs

Artefact 1 · Professional reflection / work plan

Mentor feedback and reflection are used to identify specific learning needs rather than treating feedback as a general judgement of competence. Current priorities include participation, checking independent reasoning, pacing, extension and classroom management.

Privacy: private mentor correspondence is not published. Only de-identified summaries and authored planning are public.

Artefact 2 · Peer / feedback reflection

The portfolio uses feedback as a basis for observable goals and later evidence. Where feedback has not yet been independently documented as an artefact, the portfolio does not invent a completed event.

Current evidence: feedback-to-goal planning and Lesson 1 mentor-informed adjustment are available; further verified placement feedback will strengthen this artefact.

APST 6.2

Identify relevant and appropriate sources of professional learning

APST 6.4

Apply professional learning to improve student learning

Artefact 1 · KPS 1 mentor feedback and identified learning need

KPS 1 (00:00–09:44) and written mentor feedback identified specific professional-learning needs: earlier behaviour intervention, less continuous teacher talk, more independent work time and larger text while retaining the strong visual presentation and mathematical vocabulary.

Status: authentic mentor-feedback evidence collected.

Artefact 2 · KPS 2 observable teaching adjustment

KPS 2 (02:35–12:15) shows the response: more circulation and monitoring, clearer expectations, quicker redirection, more independent student work and more consistent mathematics vocabulary. The remaining tally-instruction confusion at 11:53–12:08 is retained as the next refinement rather than hidden.

Status: mentor feedback → later teaching adjustment demonstrated. Overall student achievement remains subject to later assessment evidence.

APST 7.1

Meet professional ethics and responsibilities

APST 7.2

Comply with legislative, administrative and organisational requirements

Artefact 2 · ICT / Digital Learning Policy review

I reviewed Wallan Secondary College's Digital Learning Policy during my final placement. This strengthens the artefact from a generic policy reference to verified evidence of my engagement with the school's organisational expectations for safe, responsible and learning-centred digital technology use.

Status: policy review completed during final placement. This does not claim that every policy provision has been independently demonstrated in my teaching.

APST 7.3

Work effectively, sensitively and confidentially with parents/carers

APST 7.4

Engage with professional teaching networks and broader communities

Artefact 1 · Professional learning and external expertise

External professionals can broaden teachers’ knowledge, but consultation must occur through appropriate school processes and does not transfer responsibility for teaching.

Status: the specialist consultation record is prospective planning and does not claim a completed referral or consultation.
